Abstract In this paper we provide significant evidence that the sun is a principal agent provoking seismic activity. particular aim of studies presented to examine possible relation coronal hole (CH) driven high speed solar wind streams (HSSs) with seismicity We performed several statistical space and seismological data between 1980 2017 as well study for long time interval from year 1900 until 2017. (A1) Concerning period 1980–2017 among other results found earthquakes (EQs) M ≥ 83 2010–2017 (including catastrophic Japan 2011 (M91) Sumatra 2012 (M86) Chile 2015 (M83)) occurred during times large holes seen by Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) satellite were related CH-driven HSSs observed ACE spacecraft weeks or few months before EQ occurrences. (A2) Further research on hypothesis HSS-EQ relationship revealed surprising novel finding: power spectrum analysis suggests decay phase SCC22 SC23 at maximum values global ( 6) energy output shows periodic variation ~27 days, which mean rotational Sun. (A3) Moderate (not strong) storms in general precede great EQs. (C) Another result our comparison yearly numbers 7) fails correct whereas (D) Finally infer case strongly suggest close CH-associated present some observational most probably Alfvèn waves mediate interaction seismicity.
